Jørgen Wadum is Director of the Centre for Art Technological Studies and Conservation (CATS) at SMK. He held the position of full Professor in Conservation & Restoration at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Amsterdam, 2012–2016. From 2005–2017 he was Director of Conservation at SMK and from 1990 through 2004 he was Chief Conservator at the Mauritshuis, The Hague. He will discuss how an examination of the complex structure of materials and techniques beneath the visible “skin” of L.A. Ring’s paintings reveals fascinating details of the artist’s intent.
