A Classical Concert tailored to Hammershøj

The American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) performed in light of the enigmatic qualities of Vilhelm Hammershøj. There is a special Nordic melancholy in Hammershøi’s paintings. A loneliness and abandonment is present. It is as if we somehow break into another person’s life and existence.  At this concert, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) performed pieces from the Danish composer Ejnar Kanding and MBD73 aka Carsten Bo Eriksen in order create moods and musical postcards that interacted as a counterpoint to the paintings’ secret stories and the way the images open space into a unique climate.  ACME is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2014-2015, and is dedicated to the outstanding performance of masterworks from the 20th and 21st centuries, primarily the work of American composers.
